DRDO ( Defence Research & Development Organisation ) is an agency under the
Defence Ministry. The Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) was established in 1958 by merging the Defence Science Organisation and a few technical development establishments.
It is headquartered in New Delhi. The Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) is India's largest research organization. It has a network of laboratories working on defense technology in fields such as aeronautics, armaments, electronics, ground warfare engineering, life sciences, materials, missiles, and naval systems.
Project Indigo was DRDO's first project for the Indian military, and it included surface-to-air missiles. However, due to its lack of popularity, it was discontinued.
Since its inception, DRDO has made significant progress in the development of major systems and essential technologies such as aircraft avionics, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), small arms, artillery systems, electronic warfare systems (EW systems), tanks and armored vehicles, sonar systems, command and control systems, and missile systems.
In March 2019, the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) established India's first anti-satellite programme, establishing India as a space superpower. It successfully tested the first indigenously produced heavy-duty drone, Rustom 2, in 2016, which is an unmanned armed combat vehicle based on the Predator drone developed by the United States.
Conclusion:
If you are a student and you are thinking about making a career in DRDO then this would be a good option. If seen, DRDO salary is also good.
